They said the refund was because of recent internal checks. The woman paid around £13 using her bank account number and sort code.

The sub office of close brothers is a part of close brothers, and as a result, I received a refund for the incorrect interest calculation. I called close brothers prior to ensure this office was legitimate, and only paid £40 for the refund. This was better in my pocket because the refund was less expensive.

I called Close Brothers to make sure this office was legitimate before I found out that, although it's not advertised, it's a sub-office of Close Brothers. I got a refund of only £40, but it's still better in my pocket than the wrong interest calculation.
