3See below what our users have to say about the 01915433406 phone number:
The telephone numbers closely resembles those used by EDF, but it's not listed on their official 'so you know it's us calling' webpage. This discrepancy makes myself doubt if the ring is genuinely from EDF. Additionally, since I have no interest in a smart meter, I choose not to answer the ring regardless.
The telephoner claim to be from EDF & became agitated due to poor telephone phoneline quality. they presented 2 options: installing a smart meter or removing the electric meter altogether. The caller's rude behavior & refusal to provide info in writing raised suspicions.
EDF called asking about fitting a smart meter & offered an opt-out option by pressing "1." However, to opt out, they requested the full telephone number, which raised suspicion. The recipient dialed back using "withheld 141" to verify the legitimacy, suspecting it might be spam. While it could be EDF & merely an automatic inquiry about the smart meter, caution is advised when sharing personal info over the telephone to avoid potential scams.
