A foreign ring centre purporting to be BT Internet Security is asking for numbers they are calling from, and checking it out online during a call. I hang up before the call goes any further.

On 6th June 2017, a person claiming to be from BT and suggesting if I turned on my computer they could identify security problems I had, gave me this numbers which I called and obviously another Asian voice, although the name was English. So I hung up and the call was reported.

Said they were from BT and my internet was showing a lot of errors. Asked myself to switch pc on. Refused his request. They had a strong Asian accent. Gave myself his name James B Roylet. Gave myself a contact numbers of 21.

The telephoner on the phone said they were from BT and that they needed to turn off our internet because there were rogue files on it. The caller said their name was Nicole Williams and gave themselves no 02031295436 to check if the ring was genuine. Obviously, this was a scam.

Called by an Asian guy, by the name of Gary Wilson, said they were from BT Tech Dept & were going to disconnect my internet due to others using it. I asked for his numbers so I could verify the ring & this was the numbers I was given & when I called back, the guy said

Telephone said they were called David Marshall, (had an Asian accent) from BT. They said they were going to turn my internet connection due to security errors, but if I logged onto the pc they could talk themselves through the errors without having to disconnect my connec

After checking with BT, it was determined that the call was a plishing ring or scammer and has since reported the matter to the police, telephoning themselves George as BT Internet Security. It definitely wasn't them and they verified this.

According to BT technical department and the internet will be turned off due to hacking activity, I checked with BT who confirmed there were no problems with the account.

The telephoner said they were from BT and that my service was going to be disconnected for 20 days. They said they could give me my consumer License Service ID# as proof of his authenticity. After I asked numerous questions, I was eventually transferred to an "expert"
