My internet was compromised and other people are using it. They gave me her phone numbers and London (she was obviously not from London). They wanted access to my laptop. I simply said I don't have 1 and they hang up.

They instructed me to activate security on my laptop so that I can get positive BT broadband services. I'm happy to receive these services from them.
Even gave himself BT head office address. Insisted they were BT, but gave this numbers to ring back on for confirmation. Didnt block their calling number, so it is 01002701156 . Do with as you wish :)
Telephoning BT to report errors on my computer, they asked me to follow their instructions once I sat in front of my computer and they would then be able to sort it all out for me. When asked, they gave their name as Mike Williams-seemed unlikely.
I indicated that we had BT Broadband (we don't) & they confirmed they was calling as BT was our broadband provider. I wanted myself to log in so that they could resolve the issue.
Lady with foreign accent called. Said the same as the previous experience described in this forum. When I asked for her address and details of where she was calling from, she hung up and called back with her address in London and tel no as described in this forum.
A woman with a strong foreign accent called me and told me that they were from BT and that I had a problem with my broadband (supposedly other people using it), they asked me to turn on my computer (which I did), and they asked me to press certain keys. This phone call alarm
Apparently, BT is the mother connection for all internet servers....! Told him my house was about to burn down & I'd ring him back. As if! ?
They say that your system has been hacked and you should go to your computer and press the Windows key and the right arrow key together. When you question them, they will hang up!

Lady called Carol informed me that they worked for BT - investigating fraudulent access to my broadline via computer in my postcode area. She also gave me a numbers for myself to verify which was answered by Nigel.
Called regarding my internet, saying they were going to help me prevent hackers on my internet and wanted me to log on to particular sites. I asked for her address as they supposedly to be from BT and responded with 81 Newgate street in London. I asked if they had a number for her and they said
Someone had called from a person, who had a foreign accent, pretending to be from BT broadband technical department. They said someone was hacking our internet/broadband and they would need to sort it out otherwise our internet would be disconnected.
Took a ring from Mike Williams of BT suggesting we had an issue with our BT Broadband. Mike Williams had a strong foreign accent. Was rude on the telephone and advised us they had our BT account number. Was on internet at time and with no issues.
I was scammed. A scam caller called me from 26 claiming to be from BT Technical Support. They told me that hackers were accessing my broadband and that I could download anyDesk to stop them. I told them that I was too busy and didn't want to help.
