After connecting to BT-FON wifi, I got the same result in Fireforx browser.
As previous comments red screen saying that Microsoft Edge had detected an intrusion, and to ring the above numbers (Yoland),
After checking the 'Who called me?' site & reading the reviews, did not call the numbers repeatedly from a 'number withheld' telephone intending to string them along & then laugh at them, but the phone line is constantly engaged. Do they have a chance & gone away?
I had the RED PAGE and called the numbers, all seemed plausible until the request for money sent, then I fell in and hung up. Tried calling the numbers next day, but the numbers were invalid! Same for 01624891414, they had called me back on the phone the previous day
I received a red message on my laptop from a phone number they wanted access to remotely. After a few seconds the phone called me back, showing an incoming call from New York. I ignored it.
I had similar messages on my laptop and asked myself to contact 08000698683. I am glad I read this page and realize others had the same experience. I was advised not to contact this number.

08000698683 is clearly a scam. The red screen could cause people to panic. Don't telephone the numbers given.
Someone on the telephone suggested that her pc had an infection, they then went on to try & sell her security at over £300 for two years . A scammer (Shalonda) called the number.
I received a sudden red alert on my computer screen that Microsoft Edge had been damaged and my personal data at risk of being stolen. I called the numbers - a person talking with a foreign accent - and the person repeated my computer was damaged if I did not install security software, pay $260 and give credit card
They try to scare you with scare tactics by saying your details are at risk, so you should never call them.

I experienced a sudden red screen on my laptop while working, it said that the firewall had stopped someone trying to get personal details and to call 0800 069 8683, but the screen wouldn't close, so I switched off my laptop. I didn't call the numbers, but I was a bit scared
I saw a red alert screen pop up on my computer. I was slightly alarmed, but thought I would click on something dangerous. I read the whole message, but was straight away alerted to the fact that they cannot spell "response" - at the foot of the message it is spelt "responce".
Do not try to call these numbers! They are complete scams and will only try to get you to ring their number. Instead, press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your computer to open task manager and then go to Chrome or Explorer or wherever this "critical" message came up on. Right click on the programme
