I too got that call. It sounded like Peco Electrics, but it wasn't clear. They could not say where they got my numbers from, but a short time into the ring I insisted on knowing what was the real annual cost. They responded after a free 14 days, 99p PER DAY,

John from medic alert said it was him from the emergency room, he didn't know my name or how old I was, or where I lived. He put the telephone down, and it was a scammer looking for money.

The scammer said I was old enough to get a free medic alert. But never actually got round to saying there would be a monthly charge. I said as BT was changing all the phones they wouldn't be usable and put the telephone down.
