Telephoning with a foreign accent said they were from BT and needed to follow some instructions, when I asked why they weren't calling from a BT numbers and was this a scam, they hung up. I ordered a DSL filter from Amazon which was delivered yesterday. Is this a coincidence or cause for concern?

Someone called me from this number saying that my National cover numbers would be cancelled if I did not confirm something. I just got curious to find out what that was all about & pressed 1 of the options, but the connection was so poor that the person who picked up the telephone was so hung up that I guess

I've had numerous annoyance calls today from both my home telephone and my mobile phone, as well as from a foreign lady. I've been asked numerous questions and wanted my age bracket when I asked why they hung up. I believe this is some kind of scammer ring, at worst.
